On Oct. 9, a grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia handed up an indictment against New York Attorney General Letitia James related to allegations of bank fraud and false statement charges.

The charges against James came two weeks after the indictment of James Comey by Lindsey Halligan, the new U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia handpicked by President Donald Trump after her predecessor, Erik Siebert, was forced out for declining to prosecute the former FBI director

The latest indictment alleges that the New York attorney general fraudulently falsified records related to a home she owned in Norfolk, Virginia.
