The Pivot: Challenges to Global Security in Asia
The Journal for Terrorism and Security Analysis (JTSA) is pleased to announce a call for papers for its forthcoming edition entitled The Pivot: Challenges to Global Security in Asia. JTSA invites submissions regarding a variety of security policy topics, including national and international security, intelligence, counterterrorism, and cyber security; however, for this edition, papers addressing these issues as they relate to Asia will be given priority of review and possible publication. Scholars from all levels of academia are welcome to submit, although additional priority will be given to undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. candidates seeking publication experience. JTSA is the journal of the Student Association for Terrorism and Security Analysis (SATSA) at Syracuse University. JTSA is comprised of graduate students strongly interested in security issues. Through our association with SATSA, we are affiliated with the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University and are supported by the Institute for National Security and Counterterrorism (INSCT), the Moynihan Institute of Global Affairs, and the Syracuse University College of Law. In April 2014, SATSA will host its 10th annual security conference at Syracuse University. This event will feature distinguished guests from the security community, as well as discussion panels addressing the security challenges relevant to the U.S. foreign policy “pivot to Asia.” Selected JTSA authors will be invited to share their research at this year’s conference (travel expenses and hotel paid for) and have their papers published. JTSA submissions should be approximately 2,000 - 10,000 words and sent in Microsoft Word format. Previously published articles will not be accepted. Ritika Singh was a project coordinator at the Brookings Institution where she focused on national security law and policy. She graduated with majors in International Affairs and Government from Skidmore College in 2011, and wrote her thesis on Russia’s energy agenda in Europe and its strategic implications for America.
