The U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence released a U.S. intelligence report on Feb. 26 that concludes Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. The report dates to Feb. 11, 2021 but was declassified by Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines on Feb. 25, 2021. The four-page report lays out the intelligence assessment that “Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman approved an operation in Istanbul, Turkey to capture or kill Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.” The report also notes that “the Crown Prince has absolute control of the Kingdom’s security and intelligence organizations, making it highly unlikely that Saudi officials would have carried out an operation of this nature without the Crown Prince’s authorization.” You can read the report here and below.
