Document: George Papadopoulos Defense Team Sentencing Memo

The defense team for George Papadopoulos, who pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI in connection with L'Affaire Russe last October, has released a sentencing memo ahead of Papadopoulos's sentencing hearing on Sept. 7. His attorneys describe Papadopoulos as an eager and curious "young energy policy guru" who was "out of his depth" when dealing with the Trump campaign and individuals linked to the Russian government.
