On Thursday, April 11, the Department of Justice announced the indictment of former White House Counsel Greg Craig.

On Thursday, April 11, the Department of Justice announced the indictment of former White House Counsel Greg Craig. Craig is charged with willfully falsifying and concealing material facts in violation of 18 USC § 1001(a) from the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) Unit of the Justice Department's National Security Division and making false statements to the FARA unit in violation of 22 USC § 618(a)(2). The charges relate to his work with a law firm on behalf of the Ukrainian government. According to the document, Craig also made false statements when interviewed by the special counsel's office. Mikhaila Fogel was an associate editor at Lawfare and a research analyst at the Brookings Institution. She previously worked as a legislative correspondent for national security and foreign affairs issues in the Office of Sen. Susan Collins. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard College, where she majored in history and literature and minored in government and Arabic.
