On Friday, a panel of three International Criminal Court judges rejected the request of the court's Prosecutor to investigate "the situation" in Afghanistan, including alleged war crimes committed by the U.S. military and CIA.

On Friday, a panel of three International Criminal Court judges rejected the request of the court's Prosecutor to investigate "the situation" in Afghanistan, including alleged war crimes committed by the U.S. military and CIA. Following the Trump administration's opposition to the investigation and revocation of ICC investigators' visas, the decision noted that "subsequent changes within the relevant political landscape" made it "extremely difficult to gauge the prospects of securing meaningful cooperation from relevant authorities."
