Today, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York dismissed two lawsuits seeking to hold Facebook liable for the use of its platform to coordinate and encourage violent attacks by users linked to Hamas in 2015, holding that Facebook was protected from liability under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. The opinion grants Facebook's motion to dismiss in two cases, Cohen v. Facebook and Force v. Facebook, the latter of which Lawfare has covered here.
