Hours after former National Security Advisor Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn indicated his refusal to comply with a subpoena issued by the Senate Intelligence Committee, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Elijah Cummings has released a letter indicating that Flynn misled Pentagon security clearance investigators on his receipt of payments from the Kremlin-backed Russian television network RT.

In an interview with security clearance investigators, Flynn stated that his 2015 visit to Russia was funded by "U.S. companies"—possibly referring to this speakers' bureau, which is located in the United States—though Cummings cites documents showing that "RT paid more than $45,000 for General Flynn's participation in the 2015 gala in Moscow" and passed the money to Flynn through the speakers' bureau. RT also paid directly for travel expenses for Flynn and his son. However, Flynn told investigators that "he ha[d] not received any benefit from a foreign country."

Further reporting on Cummings' letter is available here and here. The letter is available in full below.
