Our next book soiree with the Hoover Institution will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12, when Lawfare's Benjamin Wittes will interview Tim Edgar about his new book, "Beyond Snowden: Privacy, Mass Surveillance, and the Struggle to Reform the NSA."

This series of monthly book conversations about national security law and policy is sponsored by the Hoover Institution's National Security, Technology, and Law Working Group. Note: This month's event is in Room 188 of the Russell Senate Office Building, not at Hoover's Washington office. It will be preceded by a reception with food and drink, then recorded for podcasting on Lawfare. Space for the event is limited, and recent events have filled up, so please RSVP quickly. RSVPs are required.

Here's the invitation. We hope you will try to come.
