House Intelligence Committee Releases Snowden Report Summary

The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence voted unanimously on Thursday afternoon to approve a report on Edward Snowden finding that he "did tremendous damage" to U.S. national security. The executive summary of the report is unclassified and is available here and below; the full report is 36 pages and is classified.

The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence voted unanimously on Thursday afternoon to approve a report on Edward Snowden finding that he "did tremendous damage" to U.S. national security. The executive summary of the report is unclassified and is available here and below; the full report is 36 pages and is classified. The report was released alongside an accompanying letter signed by all Intelligence Committee members and urging President Barack Obama not to pardon Snowden, which can be found here. The report and letter come on the heels of a joint campaign by the ACLU and Amnesty International to secure a presidential pardon for Snowden in the remaining months of the Obama administration.


Rishabh Bhandari graduated from Yale College with degrees in History and Global Affairs. His senior thesis focused on the decision making of the Nixon administration in response to the 1971 Bengali Genocide. He is pursuing a doctorate in international relations at Oxford University.
