House Judiciary Committee Releases Report on Trump Administration Family Separation Policy

The Democratic majority on the House Judiciary Committee released a report on Oct. 29 detailing the Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” policy that separated more than 2,500 migrant children from their families at the U.S.-Mexico border from April to June 2018. The report is based on a nearly two-year investigation by the committee. Among other findings, the report details that more than 860 complaints about family separations were filed with the Department of Homeland Security Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties. Many of the reports were filed by employees of the Department of Health and Human Services, the report notes.
