People looking to hire in national security law often send us job announcements to post, and folks looking for jobs frequently get in touch thinking---usually wrongly---that we can help. We should do more to connect these groups of people. So I'm hereby creating the Lawfare job board. I have a slight ulterior motive here: I'm testing a piece of software. The next big phase of Lawfare expansion involves the creation of a large wiki document library--a kind of one-stop-shopping for primary source material in the field of national security law. The idea is to involve our readers in the creation of this library, so one of the things I have been working on is implementing a platform for this creation. For the past few days, I've been noodling with a piece of wiki software that looks pretty promising and that interfaces nicely with our existing platform. I figured I would use it for the job board---a really simple project---as a kind of test run to see how it works in practice. Users with jobs to announce can simply edit the job board page to include them. We will keep an eye on the page to remove stale stuff (not to mention the inevitable porn links and offers from ousted African dictators to give you all their money if you give them only a little of yours). I have seeded the wiki page with a recent announcement from our friends at the Georgetown Center on National Security and the Law. People should feel free to add other opportunities about which they think Lawfare readers should know. Important: This is an experiment. If it doesn't work, I'll stop it quickly and replace it with a more traditional job listing.
