Intelligence Community Leaders Hold Press Conference on Foreign Election Interference

In a press conference on Oct. 21, Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe and FBI Director Christopher Wray, joined by Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Christopher Krebs and Assistant Attorney General for National Security John Demers, warned that Iran and Russia have obtained American voter registration information and are attempting to influence the upcoming U.S. presidential election. The officials claimed that Iran was behind fake threatening emails sent to Democratic voters purported to be from the far-right extremist group, the Proud Boys.
