I arrived in the office this morning to find a copy in my mailbox of Garrett Graff's new book, The Threat Matrix: The FBI at War in the Age of Global Terror. Graff is the editor of Washingtonian magazine and the author of an excellent profile some time back of FBI Director Robert Mueller. I am very much looking forward to reading this rather meaty-seeming book. Speaking of books, the list of books that really require reviews on Lawfare is growing.

So I am hearby instituting the Lawfare book-review program--which means that I will periodically post thoughts on books I read pertaining to law and security. Stay tuned.

Benjamin Wittes is editor in chief of Lawfare and a Senior Fellow in Governance Studies at the Brookings Institution. He is the author of several books.
