Judge Orders Pomerantz to Testify Before House Judiciary Committee
Judge Vyskocil ruled that the subpoena to Pomeranz was issued with a “valid legislative purpose.”

On April 19, a federal judge denied Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s request for a temporary restraining order enjoining a subpoena issued to former New York County Special Assistant District Attorney Mark Pomerantz by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio).
In the order, Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York ruled that the subpoena to Pomeranz was issued with a “valid legislative purpose” and that “[i]t is not the role of the federal judiciary to dictate what legislation Congress may consider or how it should conduct its deliberations in that connection.”
Following Vyskocil’s order, Bragg appealed the ruling to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
