Justice Department Will File Cert Petition in Mueller Grand Jury Materials Case

The Justice Department announced that it will file a petition for a writ of certiorari in In re Application of the Committee on the Judiciary, the Judiciary Committee’s effort to obtain grand jury material relevant to the Mueller Report. Previously, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit ruled that the department must provide the committee with the material by May 1. On April 24, the department filed a motion to stay the appellate court’s order while the government prepares its appeal to the Supreme Court.
