Looking at Section 506, I suppose I should pay the whole thing a little more attention. It reads:
For each element of the intelligence community, only the Director and Deputy Director of such element, or individuals in equivalent positions within such element, and individuals in the offices of public affairs who are specifically designated by the Director (or the individual in an equivalent position), may provide background or off-the-record information regarding intelligence activities to the media, or to any person affiliated with the media.How constructive! I guess if this passes, no more discussions at Lawfare of operational law with folks who actually know something.
