Liveblog: Hawaii v. Trump

Today at 12:30 ET a three-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit is sitting in Seattle for oral argument in the travel ban case Hawaii v. Trump. Follow along as we liveblog under the livestream embedded below.

Judges Michael Hawkins, Ronald Gould and Richard Paez will review District Judge Derrick Watson's nationwide preliminary injunction enjoining enforcement of Sections 2 and 6 of President Trump's revised March 6 executive order temporarily blocking the admission of nationals from six Muslim-majority countries. Among other things, Section 2 suspends from “entry into the United States” for a period of 90 days certain nationals of six countries: Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. The 90-day suspension does not apply to, among others, lawful permanent residents or any foreign national who has been granted asylum. Section 6 of the executive order imposes, with exceptions, a 120-day suspension on both travel to the United States and decisions on applications for refugee status under the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program.
