On August 2 at 2 p.m. ET, Secret Service Acting Director Ronald L. Rowe will speak at a press conference on the U.S. Secret Service's response to the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. Rowe became acting director on July 23, 2024 after Kimberly Cheatle stepped down following calls for her resignation due to the Secret Service's response.
