Tuesday is a busy day on the hill. The following hearings may be of interest to Lawfare readers.

The House Committee on Armed Services is holding a hearing Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. on the National Defense Strategy and the Nuclear Posture Review. The committee will hear testimony from the following witnesses:

  • James N. Mattis, Secretary of Defense
  • Gen. Paul J. Selva, Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff

The House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Emergency Preparedness, Response, and Communications is holding a hearing Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. on "Ensuring Effective and Reliable Alerts and Warnings." The subcommittee will hear testimony from the following witnesses:

  • Antwane Johnson, Director of Continuity Communications for the Federal Emergency Management Agency at the Department of Homeland Security
  • Lisa M. Fowlkes, Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau Chief at the Federal Communications Commission
