Wednesday is a busy day on the hill. The following House and Senate hearings on foreign policy and national security may be of interest to Lawfare readers.

The House Committee on Armed Services is holding a hearing Wednesday morning at 10:00 am on "The Military Posture and Security Challenges in the Indo-Pacific Region." The committee will hear testimony from Adm. Harry Harris Jr., the commander of U.S. Pacific Command. Read his prepared testimony.

The House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East and North Africa is holding a hearing Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 pm on "Israel, the Palestinians, and the Administration's Peace Plan." The subcommittee will hear testimony from the following witnesses:

  • Clifford May, Founder and President of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (Prepared Testimony)
  • Ghaith al-Omari, Senior Fellow in the Irwin Levy Family Program on the U.S.-Israel Strategic Relationship at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (Prepared Testimony)
  • Daniel Shapiro, Former U.S. Ambassador to Israel (Prepared Testimony)

The Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Readiness and Management Support is holding a hearing Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 pm on the current readiness of U.S. forces. The subcommittee will hear testimony from the following witnesses:
