The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol will hold the seventh in its series of hearings on July 12 at 1 p.m. ET. The hearing is expected to focus on the role of militant groups—such as the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers—in the Capitol attack and their possible connections to former President Trump and his associates. According to committee member Rep. Stephanie Murphy—who will lead the seventh hearing with Rep. Jamie Raskin—the panel will concentrate on Trump’s Dec. 19, 2020, tweet in which he said there would be a “wild” protest on Jan. 6. The committee will reportedly hear testimony from Jason Van Tatenhove, a former spokesperson for the Oath Keepers, and Stephan Ayres, an Ohio man who participated in the attack.
