When my daughter was in day care and I would pick her up in the evening and ask her what she did during the day, she would sometimes respond, a little alarmingly, "I sat in a dark room and stared at a wall." The room here at Fort Meade is not dark, and the wall has a screen on it with a video feed of the Guantanamo courtroom, yet I can't quite shake the feeling that we here in the press room are going to be spending the day, with her, sitting in a dark room and staring at a wall. Lawfare readers: Let it never be said that I don't love you.

Lawfare readers: Let it never be said that I don't love you. First a FERC hearing, and now this. In all seriousness, it should be a very interesting wall that we'll be staring at. We should learn a lot about the first guilty plea by a high-value detainee, and at least something about terms of the plea agreement. I'm not sure at this stage how I'm going to handle today's hearing--whether I will put up one long post at the end of the day or a bunch of shorter posts over the course of it. It kind of depends on the way the events unfold. But stay tuned. I'll get stuff up on the fireworks at Guantanamo as soon as I can.
