At 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, the House Intelligence Committee began a public hearing in the impeachment inquiry. The committee is hearing testimony from the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Sondland. The opening statements are available below.

At 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the committee convened a hearing with Laura Cooper, the deputy assistant secretary of defense for Russia, Ukraine, and Eurasia, and Amb. David Hale, the under secretary of state for political affairs. Amb. Hale did not submit an opening statement, and Cooper's is available below.
