Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D.-Mich.) has introduced a House resolution under the War Powers Resolution directing the president “to terminate the use of United States Armed Forces to engage in hostilities in or against Iran.” The resolution asserts that the president may only use the Armed Forces to engage Iran militarily if Congress specifically authorizes it or if “use of the Armed Forces is necessary and appropriate to defend against an imminent armed attack upon the United States, its territories or possessions, or its Armed Forces, consistent with the requirements of the War Powers Resolution.” The resolution can be found here and below.
