Today, we released the ninth episode of Lawfare’s narrative audio documentary, The Report, which tells the story Robert Mueller lays out in his nearly 500-page report.


This episode covers President Trump’s early efforts to stymie the FBI investigation of his National Security Adviser, Michael Flynn, and his interactions with FBI Director James Comey in the period surrounding his inauguration as president and Flynn’s dismissal. These events include some of the earliest conduct that Mueller evaluates as possible obstruction of justice:


Susan Hennessey was the Executive Editor of Lawfare and General Counsel of the Lawfare Institute. She was a Brookings Fellow in National Security Law. Prior to joining Brookings, Ms. Hennessey was an attorney in the Office of General Counsel of the National Security Agency. She is a graduate of Harvard Law School and the University of California, Los Angeles.
Benjamin Wittes is editor in chief of Lawfare and a Senior Fellow in Governance Studies at the Brookings Institution. He is the author of several books.
