At 2:30pm the Senate Intelligence Committee began its open hearings considering the following nominations:
John P. Carlin to be Assistant Attorney General for National Security at the Department of Justice
Francis X. Taylor to be the Under Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis at the Department of Homeland Security
