The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the Easter Sunday bombings in Sri Lanka, according to the New York Times. The Times further noted that a Sri Lankan official said the bombings may have been in retaliation for the recent terrorist attack in Christchurch, New Zealand. Both U.S. and Indian intelligence services had warned Sri Lankan officials of a potential upcoming attack, reported CNN.

The House Judiciary Committee subpoenaed former White House counsel Don McGahn as part of the committee’s investigation into potential obstruction of justice by President Trump, said ABC News.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that the U.S. will end exemptions from sanctions for countries buying Iranian oil, according to the BBC. The sanctions were imposed in November, however, eight countries—including China, India, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Turkey, Greece and Italy—were granted six-month waivers. The waivers will expire next month.

The U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments on Tuesday in Department of Commerce et. al. v. New York et al., a case that will determine whether the Commerce Department can add a question about U.S. citizenship to the 2020 census, reports NPR.

Fogel also posted an order from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit rejecting Chelsea Manning’s appeal of the district court order finding her in civil contempt for refusing to testify before a grand jury.
