President Trump signed into law a $900 billion stimulus bill on Sunday evening after threatening to veto the bill last week, reports the New York Times. The relief package directs $600 to individual adults with an adjusted gross income of up to $75,000 and $1200 to couples who earn up to $150,000—all based on 2019 incomes. The legislation will also bring back enhanced unemployment benefits for 11 weeks, although only half the amount provided in the spring package. And the bill allocates almost $70 billion toward public health, including vaccine purchases and state-level coronavirus testing and tracing.

The Times also reports that a Chinese court on Monday sentenced a citizen journalist, Zhang Zhan, to four years in prison. Zhang, a Chinese citizen, criticized the government’s attempts to stifle discussion of the coronavirus early on in the pandemic and questioned the initial lockdown in Wuhan—which is believed to be the site of the original outbreak.

The House of Representatives is expected to vote Monday to override Trump’s veto of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), writes the Wall Street Journal. Trump has criticized the bill for its measures to remove Confederate base names and its lack of language revoking internet platforms’ immunity for content users publish on their sites.

A vehicle exploded in Nashville, Tennessee early Friday morning, injuring three and damaging many buildings, according to the Associated Press. Authorities have identified 63-year old Anthony Quinn Warner as the individual who was allegedly responsible for what appears to have been a suicide bombing.
