On Jan. 20, President Trump signed an executive order “Restoring Freedom of Speech and Ending Federal Censorship,” which declares it to be the policy of the United States to “secure the right of the American people to engage in constitutionally protected speech.”

The order forbids government agencies from using federal resources to act in a manner that would “would unconstitutionally abridge the free speech of any American citizen.” It directs the attorney general to “investigate the activities of the Federal Government over the last 4 years that are inconsistent with the purposes and policies of this order” and prepare a report for the president “with recommendations for appropriate remedial actions to be taken.”

The order is available here and below.
