U.S. Army Soldier Charged with Attempting to Help ISIS Attack U.S. Troops
Pfc. Cole James Bridges has been charged with attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization and attempting to murder U.S. military service members.

The Justice Department announced on Jan. 19 that a U.S. soldier was arrested for allegedly attempting to help the Islamic State attack U.S. troops. Pfc. Cole James Bridges has been charged with attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization and attempting to murder U.S. military service members. According to the complaint, Bridges communicated with an FBI employee posing as an Islamic State supporter who was in contact with Islamic State fighters. The complaint says that Bridges provided tactical guidance to the purported Islamic State fighters, including advice on targets in New York City such as the 9/11 Memorial.
