On March 21, President Biden released a statement warning of “evolving intelligence” that suggests the “Russian Government is exploring options for potential cyberattacks” against the United States. The statement urges U.S. companies to “harden [their] cyber defenses immediately” and provides a fact sheet with more detailed guidance.

And Deputy National Security Advisory for Cyber and Emerging Threats Anne Neuberger expanded upon this announcement at a subsequent White House press briefing. Neuberger discussed the details about the growing threats, including reports of the U.S. government identifying specific “preparatory activity” targeting U.S. companies and critical infrastructure.
