DeVan Shannon

DeVan Shannon is a retired U.S. Army Special Forces Lieutenant Colonel and finished his service in the USSOCOM J3 Joint Collective Training Division supervising the command certification, verification and validation program for joint SOF HQ. He served five combat tours in Iraq and the Philippines along with numerous other deployments across Asia and the Middle East. He holds a master’s degree in history from the National University of Singapore and writes on the People’s Liberation Army, U.S. Special Operations, Asian security issues and U.S. doctrine.
