Richard Eisenberg

Richard Eisenberg served as an attorney in the Department of Defense during President Obama’s second term in office, first as Special Assistant to the General Counsel of the Air Force and then as Special Counsel in the Department of the Army. In those roles, Rich worked on a wide range of legal and policy matters of the utmost interest to the Secretaries of the Air Force and Army, including, in 2016, the development and implementation of the Army’s new policy on service by openly transgender soldiers. In part for this work, he received the Outstanding Civilian Service Medal from the Secretary of the Army. Previously, Rich worked as an attorney on President Obama’s re-election campaign and, before that, as a Litigation Associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. He received his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. from Harvard Law School.
