Shreve Ariail

J. E. Shreve Ariail is a senior federal prosecutor currently on leave from the Department of Justice (DOJ) and lecturing at the University of Virginia’s (UVA) School of Law and UVA’s Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy. Professor Ariail also serves as a Faculty Associate with the Batten School’s National Security Policy Center. While at DOJ, he has served on the Guantanamo Bay Detainee Taskforce and has led numerous significant national security investigations and prosecutions. Most recently, he served as the Chief of the Organized Crime and Gangs section for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.
