Steven M. Kleinman

Steven M. Kleinman was a career military intelligence officer with extensive experience in human intelligence, strategic interrogation, resistance to interrogation training, and special operations. His combat deployments include Operations Just Cause, Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Iraqi Freedom. Through his work with behavioral scientists in studying the dynamics of interrogation, Col. Kleinman has produced over 30 professional papers published in peer-reviewed journals. In 2014, he was named by Human Rights First as one of Nine Heroes Who Stood Up Against Torture. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2015 in the rank of colonel.
