OK. It’s a bit self-congratulatory. But still, it was pretty neat. I’m attending the ABA Annual Review of National Security Law. Today’s first panel had on it BG Richard Gross who is the Chief Legal Advisor to the Chairman JCS. In describing how his office worked he said it was “triage” of providing quick answers to hard questions. And then he said (and this is almost exactly right): "When we have a short time deadline we rely on others for analysis. If it is a legal issue on the forefront of the day, we look to blogs like Lawfare where a lot of really excellent analysis is done." Made
