Two New FISA Court Judges Designated

“The Chief Justice has designated Judge James P. Jones of the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia and Judge Thomas B. Russell of the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky to seven year terms on the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court. Their terms will commence May 19, 2015, and will conclude on May 18, 2022. They will replace Judges Mary A. McLaughlin and James B.

Their terms will commence May 19, 2015, and will conclude on May 18, 2022. They will replace Judges Mary A. McLaughlin and James B. Zagel, whose terms expire May 18, 2015.”
Both Judge Jones and Judge Russell were appointed to the federal bench by President Bill Clinton. They were confirmed by the Senate in 1994 and 1996, respectively.
