Monday, February 21, 2022 at 9:00 p.m.: The United Nations Security Council will hold an open meeting about escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine. 

Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 12:30 p.m.: The Atlantic Council will host a conversation with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba. Kuleba will discuss what is at stake in Ukraine and how the international community can stand with Ukraine on the front lines of democracy. Kuleba will speak with John E. Herbst, senior director of the Eurasia Center at the Atlantic Council. [EDIT: This event has been postponed due to an unforeseen schedule change.]

Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.: The Brookings Institution will host an online event on veterans’ needs in 2022. The event will feature a panel discussion with Brookings senior fellow Michael O’Hanlon; Tracy Farrell, vice president of connection at the Wounded Warrior Project; Melanie Mousseau, vice president of program operations and partnerships at the Wounded Warrior Project; Jennifer Silva, chief program officer at the Wounded Warrior Project; and Terri Tanielian, special assistant to the president for veterans affairs. 

Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.: The Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford University will host a conversation with Amy Zegart, senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, on her new book “Spies, Lies, and Algorithms: The History and Future of American Intelligence.” The conversation will be moderated by Condoleezza Rice, former U.S. Secretary of State. 

Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.: The Atlantic Council will host a book talk on “America Second: How America’s Elites are Making China Stronger” by Isaac Stone Fish, visiting fellow at the Digital Forensic Research Lab at the Atlantic Council. The event will feature a conversation with Stone Fish followed by a panel discussion on American political and business leadership’s deep ties to China. Panelists include Jacqueline Deal, president and CEO of the Long Term Strategy Group; Jennifer Hong, senior director of the Project 2049 Institute; and David O. Shullman, senior director of the Global China Hub at the Atlantic Council. 

Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 3:00 p.m.: The Brookings Institution will host a panel discussion about framing America’s policy on Xinjiang. The event will feature opening remarks from Brookings President John Allen. Panelists include: Brookings fellow Jessica Brandt; Brookings senior fellow Ryan Hass; Cathay Feingold, director of the international department at AFL-CIO; Jewher Ilham, forced labor project coordinator at the Worker Rights Consortium; and Sophie Richardson, China director at Human Rights Watch. 

Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 4:00 p.m.: The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) will host a book discussion on “The Compleat Victory: Saratoga and the American Revolution” by Kevin Weddle, professor of military theory and strategy at the U.S. Army War College. Weddle and AEI President Robert Doar will discuss the book,and what we can learn about leadership today from the battles that secured U.S. independence.

Friday, February 25, 2022 at 9:00 a.m.: The Wilson Center will host a conversation with Turkish Ambassador to the U.S. Murat Mercan on the Ukraine Crisis. In addition to Mercan, the event will feature the Wilson Center’s Mark Green, president and CEO; Merissa Khurma, program director of the Middle East Program; and William E. Pomeranz, acting director of the Kennan Institute. 

Friday, February 25, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.: The Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford University will host a seminar on examining the U.S.-China rivalry without racism. The event will feature remarks from Thomas Fingar, fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute, and Dongxian Jiang, political theorist and intellectual historian.
