Monday, March 28, 2022 at 5:30 a.m.: The Atlantic Council will host the 2022 Global Energy Forum. The Global Energy Forum is an annual three-day event that convenes the world’s top energy and foreign policy decision-makers to set the global energy agenda for the year ahead and examine the longer-term geopolitical and geoeconomic implications of the changing energy system. The forum is held in partnership with the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, ADNOC and Mubadala. The forum is also held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces. 

Monday, March 28, 2022 at 7:30 p.m.: The House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack will hold a business meeting to discuss a report recommending that the House cite Peter Navarro and Daniel Scavino, Jr. for criminal contempt of Congress. 

Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.: The House Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on the oversight of the cyber division of the FBI. The committee will hear testimony from Bryan A. Vorndran, assistant director of the Cyber Division of the FBI. 

Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.: The Senate Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe will hold a hearing on opposing Russian imperialism in Ukraine and beyond. The commission will hear testimony from Gen. Phillip Breedlove (ret.), senior fellow at the Center for European and Transatlantic Studies at the Georgia Institute of Technology; Michael Kimmage, fellow at the German Marshall Fund of the United States; and Miriam Lanskoy, senior director for Russia and Eurasia at the National Endowment for Democracy. 

Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.: The House Homeland Security Committee will hold a hearing on securing critical infrastructure against Russian cyber threats. The committee will hear testimony from Adam Meyers, senior vice president for intelligence at Crowdstrike; Steve Silberstein, CEO of Financial Services-ISAC; and Kevin Morely, manager of federal relations at the American Water Works Association. 

Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.: The Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on East Asia, the Pacific and International Cybersecurity will hold a hearing on the assault of freedom of expression in Asia. The committee will hear testimony from Maria Ressa, co-founder of Rappler; Joey Siu, policy advisor for Hong Kong Watch; and Sarah Cook, research director for China, Hong Kong and Taiwan at Freedom House. 

Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.: The House Foreign Affairs Committee will hold a hearing on present challenges and progress on the coronavirus in Africa. The committee will hear testimony from Mokgweetsi Masisi, president of the Republic of Botswana; Ahmed Ogwell, deputy director of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention; and Patrick Soon-Shiong, founder and executive chairman of NantWorks. 

Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 2:30 p.m.: The Brookings Institution will host an event to discuss the challenges of governing the oceans and the future of the law of the seas. The event will feature a panel discussion. Panelists include: Bruce Jones, Brookings senior fellow; Melanie W. Sisson, Brookings fellow; Lindsey W. Ford, former Brookings expert; and David Bosco, associate professor of international studies at Indiana University. 

Friday, April 1, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.: The Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford University will host a panel discussion on content moderation in an end-to-end encrypted world. Panelists include: Riana Pfefferkorn of the Stanford Internet Observatory; Ryan Polk of the Internet Society; and Mallory Knodel of the Center for Democracy and Technology.
