Monday, November 21, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. ET: The Brookings Institution hosted a conversation with Alan S. Blinder about his new book, “A Monetary and Fiscal History of the United States, 1961-2021.” At the event, Blinder, professor of economics at Princeton University, spoke with Don Kohn, senior fellow in economic studies at the Brookings Institution; Julia Coronado, clinical associate professor of finance at the University of Texas; Tim Duy, professor of practice at the University of Oregon; and Nathan Sheets, chief economist at PGIM, about his book and lessons from history. The conversation was moderated by Jeanna Smialek, Federal Reserve and economics reporter at the New York Times. David Wessel provided introductory remarks.   

Monday, November 21, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. ET: The American Enterprise Institution (AEI) hosted a discussion on the past, present, and future of the European Union. The discussion featured Dalibor Rohac, senior fellow at AEI; Kori Schake, director of foreign and defense policy studies at AEI; and Kathleen R. McNamara, professor of government and foreign service at Georgetown University. The discussion was moderated by James Kirchick, nonresident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council. 

Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. ET: Stanford’s Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies will host a conversation on the Software Bill of Materials and the marketplace components needed for the initiative to meet its potential. The conversation will feature Jean Camp, professor of informatics and computer science at Indiana University. Andrew Grotto, director of Freeman Spogli’s program on geopolitics, technology, and governance, moderate the discussion. 

Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. ET: The American Enterprise Institute will host a conversation with Paul Tucker about his new book “Global Discord: Values and Power in a Fractured World Order.” The conversation will focus on the construction and preservation of a sustainable and legitimate international order. The event will feature remarks from Tucker, research fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government; Hal Brand, senior fellow at AEI; and Jeffry Frieden, professor of government at Harvard University. The conversation will be moderated by Stan Veuger, senior fellow at AEI, who will also provide opening remarks.
