Monday, December 19, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. ET: The Atlantic Council hosted a discussion about how the application of a gender perspective can contribute to integrated deterrence and the role of the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda in implementing the U.S. National Security and Defense Strategies. The discussion featured Melanne Verveer, board director of the Atlantic Council and executive director of the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace, and Security; Sahana Dharmapuri, director of Our Secure Future; and Kyleanne Hunter, senior political scientist at the RAND Corporation. The discussion was moderated by Xanthe Scharff, co-founder and chief executive officer of The Fuller Project.
Monday, December 19, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. ET: The House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol will hold its final public meeting to vote on criminal referrals and the release of their final report.
Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. ET: The Brookings Institution will host a virtual debate on whether or not the federal government should regulate cryptocurrencies. The debate will feature Peter Conti-Brown, nonresident fellow at the Brookings Institution’s Economic Studies program; and Stephen G. Cecchetti, the Rosen Family Chair in International Finance at the Brandeis International Business School. The debate will be moderated by Kelly Evans, anchor for CNBC’s “The Exchange.”
Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. ET: Lawfare will host a Lawfare Live, featuring remarks from our senior editors, to discuss the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol’s final report.
Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. ET: The Atlantic Council will host a virtual panel discussion about how Ukrainians have maintained a national identity and semblance of normal life during the Russian invasion. The panel will feature Yuriy Fylyuk, chief executive officer of Prompylad.Renovation; Andrei Kurkov, a Ukrainian author; and Mykhailo Zhernakov, co-founder of DEJURE Foundation. The discussion will be moderated by Melinda Haring, deputy director of the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center.
