Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. ET: The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) hosted an event to discuss the need for public and private collaboration on quantum innovation and adoption. The discussion featured Dustin Moody, mathematician and lead of the Post-Quantum Cryptography Project at the National Institute for Standards and Technology; Celia Merzbacher, executive director of the Quantum Economic Development Consortium; Ben McCarty, technology research senior principal at Accenture; and James Andrew Lewis, senior vice president and director of the Strategic Technologies Program at CSIS. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. ET: The Brookings Institution will host an event featuring Federal Reserve Board Vice Chair Michael Barr. Barr will sit down with Brookings Senior Fellow David Wessel to discuss how to make the U.S. financial system safer and fairer. 

Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, at 2:15 p.m. ET: The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace will host an event to examine Russian public opinion on the war in Ukraine. The event will feature remarks from Andrei Kolesnikov, Carnegie senior fellow; Denis Volkov, director of the Levada Center in Moscow; Andrew S. Weiss, vice president for studies at Carnegie; and Nataliya Vasilyeva, Russia correspondent for the Telegraph.

Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022, at 8:30 a.m. ET: The Atlantic Council will host two panel discussions to mark the second anniversary of the signing of the Abraham Accords between Israel and regional neighbors. The panels will discuss how the Accords have impacted the region, and prospects for continued regional peace and security. Panelists include: Amir Hayek, ambassador of Israel to the United Arab Emirates; Sen. Jacklyn Rosen (D-Nev.); Shaik Abdullah bin Rashed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States; and Yousef Al Otaiba, ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the United States. The discussion will be moderated byDaniel Shapiro, distinguished fellow at the Atlantic Council and Carmiel Arbit, nonresident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council.

Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. ET: The Brookings Institution will host an event to examine the upcoming 2022 midterm elections. The event will feature a webinar viewing the key findings of the Brookings Institution’s 2022 Primaries Project, followed by a panel discussion about the congressional primaries, the general election, and the happenings within the Democratic and Republican parties. Panelists include: John Hudack, Brookings senior fellow; Elain Kamarck, Brookings senior fellow; Mara Liasson, national political correspondent at NPR; and Ramesh Ponnuru, senior editor of the National Review. 

Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. ET: The Brookings Institution will host an event to discuss a U.S. Treasury proposal to cap the price of Russian oil. The event will feature remarks from Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo, followed by a panel discussion about the proposal and how the United States’ plans to implement it. Panelists include: Helima Croft, managing director and global head of commodity strategy at RBC Capital Markets; Ben Harris, assistant secretary for economic policy at the U.S. Treasury Department; Craig Kennedy, center associate at the Davis Center for Eurasian and Russian Studies at Harvard University; Ed Morse, head of commodities research at Citi Group; and David Wessel, Brookings senior fellow.

Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. ET: The Brookings Institution will host a panel discussion about the role of veterans in strengthening U.S. democracy. Panelists include: Adm. (ret.) Steve Abbot, former deputy homeland security advisor to the president; Adm. (ret.) Thad W. Allen, former commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard; Ellen Gustagson, co-founder of We the Veterans; Elain Kamarck, Brookings senior fellow; Gen. (ret.) Craig R. McKinley, former chief National Guard Bureau; and Michael E. O’Hanlon, Brookings senior fellow.
