Monday, April 10, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. ET: The Wilson Center hosted a webcast to review the first 100 days of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s tenure. The event featured keynote remarks by Tatiana Prazeres, foreign trade secretary for Brazil’s Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services, and a panel discussion with Luiza Duarte, global fellow at the Wilson Center; Cedê Silva, reporter at The Brazilian Report; Natalie Unterstell, president of Talanoa; and Nicholas Zimmerman, global fellow at the Wilson Center. The discussion was moderated by Gustavo Ribeiro, editor-in-chief of The Brazilian Report, and Bruna Santos, director of the Brazil Institute.

Monday, April 10, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. ET: The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) hosted a virtual discussion about the state of the U.S.-Philippines alliance. The event featured Enrique Manalo, secretary of foreign affairs for the Republic of the Philippines; Gregory B. Poling, senior fellow at CSIS; and Victor Cha, senior vice president for Asia and Korea at CSIS.

Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. ET: The Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford University will host a seminar to discuss the role of weak states in multilateral weapons governance. The event will feature Naomi Egel, MacArthur nuclear security postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University’s Center for International Security and Cooperation.

Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. ET: The Hudson Institute will host a virtual event to evaluate the U.S. military’s force structure. The event will feature remarks from Jon Askonas, assistant professor at Catholic University, and Jeremy Hunt, media fellow at the Hudson Institute.

Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. ET: CSIS will host a webcast to discuss the National Security Agency’s (NSA) strategy for countering cyber threats. The event will feature remarks by Rob Joyce, director of cybersecurity at the NSA; and James A. Lewis, senior vice president at CSIS.

Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. ET: The Wilson Center will host an event to analyze Ukraine’s cultural response to war.  The event will feature Ian Grant, host of PBS’s “Culture Quest”; Blair A. Ruble, distinguished fellow at the Wilson Center. William E. Pomeranz, director of the Wilson Center’s Kennan Institute, will moderate the discussion.

Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 1:15 p.m. ET: The Atlantic Council will host an event to launch a new report from its Commission on Defense Innovation Adoption about military innovation. The event will feature keynote remarks from Mark T. Esper, former secretary of defense, and Deborah Lee James, former secretary of the U.S. Air Force. In addition, the event will feature two panel discussions: the first will relay U.S. government perspectives on strategic innovation, and the second panel will discuss findings of the Atlantic Council’s new report and its proposals to streamline federal agencies’ adoption of innovative technologies.

Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. ET: The Atlantic Council will host a discussion about rebuilding Ukraine’s digital infrastructure to facilitate access to public services. The conversation will feature Alex Bornyakov, deputy minister of digital transformation of Ukraine; Denelle Dixon, chief executive officer of the Stellar Development Foundation; Anatoly Motkin, president of StrategEast; and Mark Simakovsky, deputy assistant administrator for the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Europe and Eurasia Bureau. The discussion will be moderated by Ananya Kumar, associate director of digital currencies at the Atlantic Council.

Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. ET: Bellingcat will host a workshop about interpreting far-right symbols in online investigations and other research contexts. The workshop will be led by Michael Colborne, lead researcher for the Bellingcat Monitoring Project.

Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 11:45 a.m. ET: The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace will host a discussion about the imperative of a secure digital public infrastructure to protect communities from global challenges and instill economic benefits. The event will feature remarks from Nandan Nilekani, co-founder of Infosys Technologies Limited, and Dan Baer, senior vice president for policy research at the Carnegie Endowment.

Friday, April 14, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. ET: CSIS will host a discussion about the future of Western military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The event will feature Dereck J. Hogan, acting assistant secretary of state in the Department of State’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, and Max Bergmann, director of CSIS’s Europe, Russia, and Eurasia Program.

Friday, April 14, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. ET: The Brookings Institution will host an event to evaluate the relationship between the U.S. and South Korea after 70 years of bilateral cooperation. The event will feature remarks from Suzanne Maloney, vice president of Foreign Policy at the Brookings Institution; Philip S. Goldberg, U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Korea; and Mireya Solís, director of the Brookings Institution’s Center for East Asia Policy Studies. A panel discussion will feature remarks from Katharine H.S. Moon, visiting professor of government at Harvard University; Jung H. Pak, deputy assistant secretary for multilateral affairs at the U.S. Department of State; and Andrew Yeo, senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. Solís will moderate the conversation.

Monday, April 17, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. ET: The National Security Law Program at the George Washington University Law School will host a discussion about creating a U.S. national cybersecurity strategy. The event will feature Chris Inglis, former national cyber director in the Executive Office of the President.
