President Donald Trump’s advisors considered tasking U.S. military troops deployed to the southern border with building and operating temporary detention facilities for migrants, NBC News reports.

The Saudi government offered tens of millions of dollars to Libyan commander Khalifa Haftar, who controls large swaths of territory in Libya, in support of his recent campaign to seize the capital city Tripoli from the internationally-recognized government, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Citing a lack of cooperation from relevant authorities, the International Criminal Court (ICC) declined to open a formal investigation into the situation in Afghanistan, which would have included investigation of alleged U.S. war crimes, the AP details. Lawfare posted the full decision.

Following President Omar al-Bashir’s ouster and arrest, the Sudanese military said it would not extradite him to the ICC, where he is wanted on war crimes charges, the New York Times reports. The military signaled it would pursue domestic prosecution instead.

W. Samuel Patten, a political consultant involved in foreign payments to Trump’s inauguration, was sentenced to probation in his case spun off from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, according to CNN. Patten was sentenced to 36 months of probation after prosecutors sought a lenient sentence due to his “substantial assistance.”
