Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Lawfare, happy birthday to you. This week marked the blog's third birthday, as Ben noted.
Another milestone, this one flagged by Ritika: happy 500th "Today's Headlines and Commentary" to the roundup team, including yours truly! Who would have thought when I launched the feature oh-so-long-ago that it would become a mandatory, daily occurrence.
Is your head spinning from the comprehensive, detailed Syria posts on Lawfare? Yesterday I collected our Syria entries to date---including those from this very busy, analysis-stuffed week---right here.
Paul wrote one of the week's few non-Syria posts---on the Snowden fallout, of course, and the NSA's access to encryption keys. Ashley also wrote about the Snowden saga, and about the significance of deals whereby states agree not to spy on one another.
The DNI released its biannual recidivism report on former Guantanamo detainees; check it.
Those longing for the days of the Lawfare Drone Smackdown can quench their thirst with this video (which Ben posted) of a low-tech drone smackdown.
Send your feedback about our new hosting service. We want to hear from you! Also, read Ben's post about our new comments policy, too.
And that was the week that was.
